Job description:
Company is seeking an estimator to add to their Water/Wastewater and Federal/Industrial fueling facility construction estimating team.
The Construction Estimator is an individual who is responsible for producing detailed estimates from preliminary design through the construction phase. The Estimator will evaluate drawings and bid specifications to determine project requirements and estimate costs to achieve profitability goals for the company.
Responsibilities:
Defines work scope, solicits and selects subcontractors
Proficient in plan reading, comprehension of specifications, and quantity takeoffs
Proficient in organizing and assembling estimates.
Attend Pre-bid/Pre-Construction Meetings as needed, take notes, obtain and request necessary information.
Successful in bidding projects, organizing scopes of work, and identifying gaps/overlaps.
Proficient in conceptual estimating through the CM Process (Program, Schematic, DD, CD, etc) working with architects and engineers in design phases.
Understands means and methods of construction trades. Knows the different labor & equipment productivity rates of these items.
Understands CPM Scheduling and can translate into construction budget.
Clearly communicates with Subcontractors & Vendors regarding deadlines, scope, & project scheduling expectations.
Presenting hard-bid, ROM & Conceptual estimates to clients.
Proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions.
Reviews and evaluates potential project opportunities, assesses risks associated with those opportunities and downloads accordingly to the estimating staff and executive team.
Bottom Line Requirements:
1. B.S. degree in engineering or construction management.
2. 5+ years of direct experience estimating Water/WWTP and/or Fuel System Projects.
3. Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid.
4. Experience with P6 or similar scheduling software.
